Parlor Sets and Tables
Nacogdoches University and Stephen F. Austin State University have had a long history together since 1923. Nacogdoches University Building operated as a college until 1904 when it was given to Nacogdoches ISD to be used for educational purposes only. The building was used for the high school until 1923 when Dr. Birdwell and Stephen F. Austin State Teachers College held the first year of classes in the Nacogdoches University Building. SFASU has continued to show its gratitude throughout the years, by donating furniture to the Nacogdoches University Building. On many different occasions SFASU faculty, staff and students have donated their time and resources to the Federation of Women’s Clubs and the Nacogdoches University Building. The parlor set in the dining room, donated by SFASU, was once part of the president’s home. The set has two matching sofas. The parlor set has cream and dark wood finishes. In the dining room is an ornate marble toppedtable from the same set that was donated by SFASU. The tables have swan detailed legs.
