Pier Mirror
The Eastlake style is known for its simple design, distinct oak or cherry wood finishes, its geometric and natural decorative elements, as well as wooden knobs. This pier mirror was built between 1875 and 1885 using burled walnut with ebonized maple. It has small geometric and finely incised liner details. The console on the mirror may have been a later addition. Pier mirrors were typically placed between windows above a pier table. They were popular during the 1800s and their shape allowed for them to be hung on a wall.
